Prey Star Amber Midthunder Expresses Desire to Return as Naru in New Predator Movie
Dan Trachtenberg is considering several options for continuing the franchise.
Amber Midthunder, who starred in Mike Flanagan’s series Carrie, addressed the question of potentially returning to the role of Naru from Prey during an interview with ScreenRant about her new project. The actress stated that she would gladly continue the character’s story, but the decision depends on Dan Trachtenberg:
“I love both characters and would gladly play them again, but unfortunately, it’s not up to me. […] I love Dan as a director and storyteller, and I love what he’s doing with the Predator franchise.”
Naru first appeared in 2022’s Prey, where the Comanche warrior managed to defeat a Predator. The animated film Predator: Killer of Killers revealed that she was later taken prisoner on Yautja Prime. The ending showed the character in a frozen state alongside other survivors, including Dutch, the character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger from the original film.

Trachtenberg previously considered bringing Naru back in Predator: Badlands, where she could have been a partner to the Predator Dek. The role ultimately went to the android Tia, played by Elle Fanning, as the director wanted to make the Predator the main character and shoot a film without humans.
Trachtenberg is currently weighing several directions for the franchise’s development. He previously expressed a desire to make Prey 2 and also considered a Badlands sequel centered on Dek and his mother. Furthermore, the ending of Killer of Killers left open the possibility of continuing the stories of Naru and other familiar characters. It has not yet been announced which of these projects will be next.
