Streaming service Hulu has officially commissioned a new continuation of the series “Prison Break”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story will unfold within the same universe as the original “Prison Break”. The lead cast includes Emily Browning, Lucas Gage (“Euphoria”) and Drake Rodger (“The Winchesters”). The plot will revolve around three central figures: a corrections officer at the country’s most dangerous prison, an inmate, and a congressman.
Elgin James (“Mayans M.C.”) will serve as showrunner. A specific release date has not yet been announced. The original “Prison Break” aired on Fox from 2005 to 2017; the series won a Golden Globe for Best Drama and received an Emmy nomination.
