Players Criticize Docked, the New Game From the Creators of SnowRunner and RoadCraft

The creators behind the acclaimed SnowRunner and RoadCraft have historically enjoyed a streak of successes, but their latest project, Docked, appears to have faced an underwhelming launch.

The title has garnered a lukewarm reception on Steam, currently sitting at a “Mixed” rating with only 63% positive feedback. A primary point of contention is the game’s rigid linearity; many players have expressed disappointment over the absence of a “sandbox” or “free-roam” mode. According to user reviews, Docked feels more like an “on-rails” experience than the comprehensive port management simulator they had anticipated. The core gameplay loop revolves around executing predetermined missions that frequently feel repetitive.

Technical performance has also come under fire. One Steam user reported that even with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, the game only manages 60–70 FPS at native 4K resolution. This struggle is partly attributed to a lack of modern upscaling support; the Unity-based title currently lacks DLSS or AMD FSR on PC. Instead, it relies on a dynamic resolution scaling system that adjusts visual quality to maintain a target frame rate, which often produces inferior results compared to AI-driven upscaling methods.

Optimization issues aren’t exclusive to PC. Critics at RepublicaDG echoed these concerns, awarding the PlayStation 5 version a score of 6.8 out of 10, largely due to performance inconsistencies.
