Silent Hill 2 Remake Developers Want to Find the Next Hideo Kojima
Bloober Team and its new subsidiary Broken Mirror Games want to find a creator with an unusual vision and help that person grow a small idea into a full horror game.
Bloober Team plans to find a talented creator who could change the horror genre in the future. The company says it is ready to support that person from a small idea to a finished game.
Tymon Smektala described the plan. He spent 13 years at Techland working on the Dying Light series and took over as head of Broken Mirror Games in 2026. According to Smektala, the biggest achievement would be discovering the author of a small project with an unusual vision. The studio would give that person the tools they need, along with Bloober Team’s experience in making horror games.
Smektala is looking for fresh ideas rather than big names. He cites the films Obsession, Backrooms, and Weapons as sources of inspiration. Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno added that the best horror games do more than scare players. They also reflect society’s fears.
Broken Mirror Games is already working on several projects, including Onyx: The Dark Grip for Nintendo Switch 2 and Saw: Genesis. The search for new creators continues. Smektala acknowledges that finding the next Hideo Kojima is an ambitious goal, but one he considers realistic.
