Paul Verhoeven Joins New RoboCop Series as Producer
Screenwriters of the original 1987 film were previously brought on board to work on the project.
Paul Verhoeven, who directed the 1987 cult classic RoboCop, is involved in the upcoming Prime Video series. Executive producer James Wan shared this during a Blumfest panel at New York Comic-Con, though he did not specify what exact role Verhoeven plays in the project.
It was previously reported that Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, writers of the first film, were brought onto the project. However, both hold executive producer credits, while Peter Ocko, who worked on Lodge 49, serves as the writer and showrunner.

Dan Stevens, known for Legion and Downton Abbey, will star in the lead role. According to Wan, the team feels “inordinately lucky” to have found the ideal actor for the new incarnation of the cyborg police officer.
Filming is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2027, but a premiere date has not yet been announced.
