Charlie Cox Addresses Future as Daredevil After Series Finale
While the third season of Born Again will be the show’s last, the actor hopes to return to the role.
Charlie Cox is not ready to say a final goodbye to Daredevil just yet. At New York Comic-Con, a ScreenRant journalist asked the actor if the third season of Born Again would be his final appearance as Matt Murdock. Cox admitted that he does not know the answer himself, but he hopes to return to the role:
“Do I think we’ve seen Matt for the last time? Honestly, I don’t know, and I don’t want to guess, but I feel like no. I think something else will happen. It might be a long wait, but sooner or later he’ll show up somewhere.”
The actor did not disclose any specific plans. However, during a meeting with fans, he recalled the Save Daredevil campaign launched after the cancellation of the original Netflix series in 2018 and joked that Marvel better not test their patience again:
“I can only say one thing: it looks like the Save Daredevil campaign is already preparing for round two. And we definitely don’t want to tick those guys off again.”

The original Daredevil lasted for three seasons on Netflix, and Born Again will ultimately receive the same number. In the final season, Matt will reunite with the rest of the Defenders: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. The premiere is expected on Disney+ in March 2027.
