Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King Released on Android and iOS
Developers sometimes drew a bit too much inspiration from A Link to the Past.
Publisher FDG Entertainment has released a mobile version of the adventure game Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King by developer Castle Pixel. The game is available on Android and iOS using a try-before-you-buy model: players can download it for free and play through the first chapter, while unlocking the full version costs $5.
Players take on the role of Lily, a recruit of the Knights of the Rose, and must save the Kingdom of Blossom after an evil wizard puts the king into a magical sleep. Over the course of the adventure, players can freely explore the world, clear five dungeons filled with puzzles and bosses, and find new weapons and spells.

The original Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King was released on PC in March 2017 and has since earned an 86% positive rating on Steam based on over 722 user reviews. Players praise the large world, numerous interactive objects, and straightforward puzzles, while often criticizing the developers for being overly similar to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, sometimes even calling the game a copy-paste job. Although many players enjoyed Blossom Tales precisely for that reason.
