Dynamic Loading & Unloading Comes to Euro Truck Simulator 2 in Update 1.57
Great news for European hauliers — dynamic loading and unloading is arriving in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the forthcoming 1.57 update. Below is a rundown of what you can expect once the feature goes live.
After its initial launch in American Truck Simulator, this interactive cargo-handling system will now be introduced to ETS2. It will first appear at selected custom and prefab depots included with the upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC, and will also be rolled out to all compatible prefab depots across the base map and map DLCs — plus a special custom depot in Greece — so a broad range of players can try it out.
Initially, the feature will support logger trailers. If you own a logger trailer and are transporting Logs, Large Tubes, or Iron Pipes, you’ll see material handlers with multiple attachments or crawler excavators perform the loading and unloading. When you position your trailer in the designated bay, the loading sequence will commence automatically for the cargo type you’re hauling.
After loading completes, your GPS will automatically set the delivery destination. Upon arrival at the receiving depot, choose the “Where do you need it?” option and follow the route to the unloading point, where the trailer will be emptied by the equipment on site.
You’ll encounter this mechanic at many prefab depots across the base map and existing expansions — including sawmills, construction yards, material suppliers, and steelworks. Custom depots in the Nordic Horizons DLC will feature it at several timber harvesting sites, and one custom shipyard depot in Athens, Greece will also support the system. The team intends to broaden support for additional cargo types and locations in future updates.
