Justin Truman held his leadership position for only 11 months.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier states that the current Bungie head is stepping down less than a year after his appointment.
Truman previously served in various leadership roles at the company, including design director for Destiny 2 and general manager of the franchise. He spent nearly 17 years at the studio in total.
Truman took over at Bungie following the departure of former CEO Pete Parsons, who faced repeated criticism from the gaming community and former employees. Former Bungie writer Robert Brooks once labeled Parsons the person who killed Destiny.
Bungie has yet to confirm the departure of Truman. The studio did not provide a comment in response to media inquiries.
The leadership change occurs during a major company restructuring. Bungie recently announced significant layoffs, acknowledging that Destiny 2 fell short of expectations and that the studio can no longer operate at its previous scale. Despite these changes, the developers state that the company still has several new projects in early production.
