Oscar ratings hit a four-year low

The 98th Academy Awards telecast garnered a domestic audience of 17.86 million viewers, according to Variety.

This turnout marks the ceremony’s lowest viewership since 2022 (16.6 million), trailing the 19.6 million spectators who tuned in for the 2025 broadcast. Conan O’Brien returned to anchor the evening as host.

The night’s biggest triumph was “Battle for Battle,” which secured six statuettes, including Best Picture and the inaugural trophy for Best Casting. Other prominent victors included “Sinners” with four Oscars and “Frankenstein” with three. The complete list of laureates is available at this link.
