[Editor’s note: This guide contains major plot spoilers for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, so proceed at your own discretion!]
Hidden Treasure No. 1 Location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword
- Rewards: 1x Fine Silk Cloth and 2x Oni Stones
Initiate this inaugural treasure hunt by conversing with the woman stationed just northwest of the Gojo Street – West Spirit Mirror. Old Drawing No. 1 hints that the prize rests atop a rooftop overlooking a distant pagoda “at the summit of Kiyomizu-zaka Slope.”
Begin your ascent from the Kiyomizu-zaka Spirit Mirror, then take a sharp right into the narrow alley winding behind the structures. Keep an eye out to your left for a wooden ladder. Climb it to reach the intermediate rooftop, where a second ladder awaits. Scale this final climb to reach the exact vantage point illustrated in the sketch, then channel your gauntlet’s power to materialize the chest.
Hidden Treasure No. 2 Location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword
- Rewards: 1x Fine Silk Cloth and 2x Oni Stones

This illustration emphasizes two key environmental cues: a prominent pagoda in the backdrop and a descending ladder, accompanied by the riddle: “where the Buddhas overlook the flow.”
This second clandestine cache lies west of the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Follow the cobblestone street downward until you spot a ladder hugging the right-hand wall. Descend into the lower section, head west, and you will stumble upon a serene cascade watched over by stone Buddha statues. As before, summon the hidden container using your gauntlet.
Hidden Treasure No. 3 Location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword
- Rewards: 1x Fine Silk Cloth and 2x Power Stones
Graphic: Paulo Kawanishi/Polygon | Source images: CapcomUnlock the third treasure hunt by talking with the woman positioned on the northern expanse of the map, directly west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror. Old Drawing No. 3 depicts a fortified gateway framing a tranquil garden courtyard, accompanied by the poetic clue: “at the temple where dragons soar.”
Unlike previous drawings devoid of obvious geography, this cryptic mention of “dragons” points directly toward the edifice east of the Kami River – East Spirit Mirror—the exact battlefield where you conquered the twin Genma brothers. Return to that familiar combat arena. Before stepping inside the main hall, veer right to access the eastern perimeter of the garden. Approach the grand gateway to locate the invisible chest and reveal it using your gauntlet.
Hidden Treasure No. 4 Location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword
- Rewards: 1x Fine Silk Cloth and 2x Power Stones
Graphic: Paulo Kawanishi/Polygon | Source images: CapcomTo embark on the fourth treasure hunt, travel to Shijo Street in the northern sector and converse with the geta merchant. He will grant you Old Drawing No. 4, which portrays the outer corner of an expansive wraparound veranda framing a distant pagoda.
Your destination waits on the southeastern side of the region. Fast-travel to the closest checkpoint, the Gojo Street – East Spirit Mirror. Scale the stone steps situated immediately to the right of the mirror and vault across the chasm via the perimeter wall. Next, take the left-hand trail and press onward, keeping a steady northeast bearing. At the highest elevation of this zone, ascend the monumental stone steps to reach the targeted structure. The hidden prize rests securely along the left flank of the veranda.
Hidden Treasure No. 5 Location in Onimusha: Way of the Sword
- Rewards: 1x Fine Silk Cloth, 2x Oni Stones, and 1x Skeleton Hozuki
Graphic: Paulo Kawanishi/Polygon | Source images: CapcomTrigger the final Hidden Treasure side quest by speaking to the woman lingering on the northern perimeter, west of the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror. After recounting her encounter with a spectral armored warrior searching for Musashi, she entrusts you with Old Drawing No. 5. The sketch displays merely a fraction of a tiled roof paired with an adjacent street, accompanied by the enigmatic description: “The highest place in the capital.”
Given the clues, only one landmark fits the billing: the towering Yasaka Pagoda. Travel east of the Rokudo-chinnoji Temple into the courtyard adjacent to the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Make a right to find the threshold of the main structure. Climb multiple flights of stairs until you emerge onto the rooftop access point. Head directly to the southern ridge of the roof and employ your gauntlet to unearth the final chest.
