“Odyssey” receives an “R” rating

Christopher Nolan’s epic feature, The Odyssey, has officially been slapped with an R rating by the MPAA, restricting attendance for moviegoers under 17 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This ambitious adaptation of Homer’s classic poem boasts a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson. The narrative follows King Odysseus as he attempts a grueling journey back to his home island of Ithaca following his triumph in the Trojan War—a voyage fraught with perilous encounters and deadly mythical adversaries.

Universal Pictures invested a staggering $250 million into the production of the film, which runs for a total of two hours and 52 minutes. The Odyssey is slated for its international theatrical debut on July 15.
