“Obsession” sets a new record for Focus Features

The horror sensation It’s What’s Inside has officially become the highest-grossing film in the history of Focus Features, raking in a staggering $224 million, according to industry reports.

This impressive feat surpasses the studio’s former record-holder, the feature-length Downton Abbey, which earned $194 million. Notably, the film achieved this monumental success on a shoestring budget of just $750,000.

The plot follows a young man named Bear who acquires a mysterious artifact capable of granting wishes. He impulsively wishes for his colleague, Nikki, to fall in love with him, only for her to become terrifyingly obsessed with him. The film marks the directorial debut of Curry Barker and features standout performances by Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette.
