“Obsession” Becomes the Highest-Grossing Original Film of the Decade

Curry Barker’s horror feature, Obsession, has officially secured the title of the highest-grossing original film of the 2020s.

The film has raked in a staggering $371 million at the global box office, a remarkable feat considering its production budget was under $1 million. It narrowly edged out the previous record-holder, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which earned $370 million last year.

Obsession follows the story of Bear (Michael Johnston), a shy young man who, desperate to win the affection of his coworker Nikki (Indi Navarrete), acquires a mystical wand and wishes for her eternal devotion. His wish is granted, triggering a cascade of terrifying consequences. This project serves as the feature directorial debut for Barker, formerly a well-known content creator.
