Misguided choices could leave Nova Roma submerged.
Developer Lion Shield and publisher Hooded Horse have released a Nova Roma demo for PC on Steam.
The game is a city-building simulator set in Ancient Rome. Players will divert rivers, gather resources, build infrastructure, and attend to the higher powers — trouble may follow if the gods are displeased:
Lead a band of citizens into new territories to found Nova Roma — the New Rome, a stronghold of everything the empire once celebrated. At first you’ll command only a modest village. Appease the gods by raising magnificent temples, supply your townspeople with essentials, and craft a society that will set the standard for the world for the next thousand years.
When the game enters full Early Access, the developers plan to add technologies for the late game, advanced structures and production chains, and expanded combat mechanics.
Nova Roma is scheduled to launch on January 22, 2026. The Steam page is available here. The demo has earned “Very Positive” reviews, boasting a 95% rating.
