No “Sex” in Gothic 1 Remake? Higher Age Rating Than Original, but Players Fear Removal of Risqué Content

The Steam storefront for the Gothic 1 Remake was recently updated, providing fresh insight into the game’s official age classification.
This upcoming reimagining has been granted a PEGI 18 rating, specifically highlighting “Violence” and “Strong Language.” Interestingly, the original 2001 classic carried a PEGI 16 rating, with content descriptors focusing on “Violence” and “Sexual Content.”
This shift in labeling sparked concerns among the fanbase that suggestive content might have been sanitized or omitted entirely. However, the “T-Moor and his team” community clarified that the PEGI 18 designation often encompasses mature themes more broadly:
