“No one will buy this on PS5” — players attack Saros developers

Housemarque recently unveiled fresh gameplay snippets of their upcoming project, Saros. While the footage is visually arresting, the studio has been met with a wave of backlash from the PC gaming community rather than the anticipated praise.

Nearly every social media update from the studio is now flooded with the same sentiment: “no one is buying this on PS5,” “we need a Steam version,” and “this title will fail without PC support.” This surge in hostility follows reports suggesting Sony is pivotting toward a more restrictive exclusivity strategy.

Some critics have been even more blunt, arguing that Saros is a niche title that necessitates a broader audience to survive. Keeping it locked to the PS5 is being characterized by some as a “waste of the developers’ talent.”

“I’m speaking for everyone when I say: nobody will purchase this until you announce PC and Xbox versions,” one commenter stated. This localized uproar has intensified as Sony drops hints about returning to absolute exclusivity for its major single-player tentpoles.

The situation is further complicated by insights from industry journalist Jason Schreier. According to his reports, both Saros and Ghost of Yōtei were originally intended for a simultaneous or near-simultaneous PC launch.
