Nintendo Premieres Final Trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Revealing New Star-Studded Cast
Following last week’s teaser, Nintendo has officially unveiled the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Arriving just ahead of its April debut—and surprisingly a day before the annual Mar10 Day celebrations—this ultimate look at the film introduces several unexpected voice actors and offers a deep dive into the cinematic world of the Mushroom Kingdom.
The concluding trailer highlights Mario’s iconic steed, Yoshi, in full action, while Bowser Jr. makes a notable appearance alongside his father. Long-time fans will also notice a significant amount of inspiration drawn from the classic Super Mario Bros. 2. You can watch the full trailer below:
During the Direct presentation, Nintendo confirmed that several fan-favorite characters will be portrayed by high-profile talent, including Donald Glover, Luis Guzmán, and Issa Rae.

The multitalented Donald Glover, also known by his musical stage name Childish Gambino, has been cast as the voice of Yoshi. Glover is widely celebrated for his acclaimed work on Community and Atlanta, as well as his roles in Solo: A Star Wars Story and the 2019 reimagining of The Lion King.

In a surprising nod to Nintendo history, Luis Guzmán will voice Wart, the villainous frog monarch who served as the primary antagonist in the North American version of Super Mario Bros. 2. Guzmán is a veteran of the screen, with a prolific career spanning Carlito’s Way and Boogie Nights to modern hits like Netflix’s Wednesday.

Rounding out the new reveals is Issa Rae, who takes on the role of the Honey Queen, the majestic ruler of the Honey Hive Galaxy. Rae is best known as the creator and star of HBO’s Insecure and has recently appeared in major features such as Barbie and American Fiction.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 1. If you missed the previous previews, you can catch the original teaser here and the second trailer here.
