Without any prior fanfare or a formal marketing blitz, Square Enix has stealth-released its acclaimed hit from last year on Xbox and PC. Until now, this installment had remained a gated experience, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Originally debuting on June 5, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch 2, Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster quickly garnered significant critical and commercial acclaim. The title was widely praised for its quintessential turn-based combat, signature aesthetic, and substantial graphical overhaul. Consequently, many enthusiasts regarded it as one of the most compelling offerings on Nintendo’s latest hardware.
It appears the period of platform exclusivity was remarkably brief. Eschewing a traditional promotional campaign, Square Enix instead released a surprise trailer confirming the game’s sudden expansion. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster has officially arrived on Steam and the Microsoft Store, though a PlayStation release remains notably absent for the time being.
Alongside the launch, Square Enix shared another milestone for fans of the franchise: total sales for the Bravely series have now surpassed 4 million units worldwide.
