The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — the follow-up to 2023’s Super Mario Bros. Movie — will be the subject of a dedicated Nintendo Direct later this week. The Nintendo Today app and Nintendo’s social posts say the livestream is scheduled for 9:00 AM ET / 6:00 AM PT on Wednesday, November 12.
Nintendo’s announcement indicates the presentation will showcase the world premiere of the official trailer and clarifies that it will not include news about new Mario games. Expect the format to resemble the previous movie-focused Direct: brief remarks from Nintendo and Illumination, possible casting updates, and a trailer or teaser to close the show. (You can view the earlier movie Direct for reference here.)
Details about the Galaxy film remain limited. Most of the primary cast are confirmed to return, but the presence of certain franchise figures — like Rosalina, who is central to the Galaxy games — has not been confirmed. Conversely, Yoshi appears increasingly likely to feature: a Yoshi egg was hinted at in the first film’s post-credits scene, and Yoshi’s involvement was later teased via a promotional reveal tied to a Mario-themed cookie dough product. Kotaku covers that reveal.
When the Direct goes live on Wednesday, you’ll be able to watch it on YouTube or through the Nintendo Today app. The YouTube live stream will be available here.
