New “Shaun the Sheep” to be released in Russia

Volga film distribution has announced the acquisition of the stop-motion animated feature Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas for theatrical release in Russia.

This latest installment in the iconic Shaun the Sheep franchise, produced by the acclaimed British studio Aardman (creators of Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run), is set to hit theaters on October 29. The story unfolds as Halloween approaches: the Mossy Bottom Farm owner inadvertently ruins the pumpkin patch, prompting Shaun to attempt a fix with one of his inventive schemes. Soon after, the farmer vanishes, and a mysterious creature is sighted in the nearby woods, further complicating the flock’s already precarious situation.

The film was helmed by directors Steve Cox and Matthew Walker. A localized teaser trailer for the movie has also been released.
