New Fortnite Season Surprises Players with Number of Bots

Comment Views: 3

In the new Fortnite season, players report that the number of bots in Battle Royale matches has surged to 75%, leaving actual humans to account for only a quarter of the lobby.

Fortnite has dealt with bots for a long time. Because a Battle Royale match requires 100 participants to start, AI fills open slots. The issue may have now become significantly more pronounced.

Following the launch of the Override season, user Au5la discovered that the number of real opponents dropped to 25. Insider SpushFNBR noted that bot presence previously stood at 35% and has now potentially more than doubled.

It remains unclear whether the 75% figure applies to every match. Additional testing is ongoing, but evidence suggests the bot limit has indeed been raised.

Players frustrated by AI opponents are advised to try Ranked mode, where fewer bots should appear. Epic Games likely increased the proportion of AI combatants to shorten matchmaking queue times.
