New Fable Footage Reveals Villain Isabel, Hero of Wraithmarsh, Played by Hayley Atwell

The latest trailer for Playground Games’ highly anticipated Fable sequel—which was recently rescheduled for a February 2027 release—has unveiled a compelling new antagonist: Isabel, the Hero of Wraithmarsh. As detailed in the official Xbox Blog, the character is brought to life by the talented Hayley Atwell, known for her role in Captain America: The First Avenger. Alongside this reveal, developers confirmed that Fable will officially launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 23.

While Isabel positions herself as the savior Albion desperately craves, her dialogue hints at a darker, more complex morality. “Isabel is a driven, powerful Hero on a quest to rectify a tragic injustice,” explains narrative director Craig Owens. “Consumed by grief, she has channeled her trauma into an unwavering intensity that puts her at direct odds with both the Hero of Briar Hill and her former guardian, Humphry. Her unshakable conviction—not just that she is acting righteously, but that she can justify any collateral damage caused along the way—establishes her as a formidable and dangerous adversary.”

Playground Games also spotlighted another key character: Jenny, portrayed by Natasia Demetriou of What We Do In The Shadows. According to Owens, Jenny is one of two competing heirs to the city of Bloodstone. “Brutal, crude, and shameless,” he notes. “She is the living embodiment of Bloodstone itself—proud, defiant, and perpetually dangerous. If she has her way, that is exactly how it will remain.”

The cinematic concludes with a chilling tease that suggests the return of the original Fable’s legendary antagonist, Jack of Blades. Given his history of wearing a signature mask, it remains to be seen whether this is the genuine return of the villain or an opportunist claiming his dark mantle.

Fable arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 23. Players who opt for the Premium Edition will gain access five days early, starting on February 18.
