Mrs. GREEN APPLE brought their monumental ZENJIN MITO TO IM/MUTABLE stadium tour to a breathtaking close on July 4 and 5, delivering unforgettable final performances at Tokyo’s prestigious MUFG Stadium (National Stadium).

Spanning six massive dates—four at MUFG Stadium across April and July, alongside a two-night stint at Osaka’s Yanmar Stadium Nagai in May—the tour marked a historic milestone. The acclaimed trio became the first-ever band to headline four separate concerts at Tokyo’s National Stadium. Adding an intimate touch, the Yanmar Stadium shows and the July Tokyo dates were held exclusively for members of their dedicated fan club, “Ringo Jam.”

Launched in 2014, the self-produced ZENJIN MITO concert series has steadily evolved in both ambition and scale. Derived from a Japanese term meaning “unprecedented,” the tour truly lived up to its namesake by culminating in this unprecedented stadium residency.

By the evening of July 4, the Tokyo skies offered a reprieve from the summer humidity, treating the capacity crowd of diverse fans—spanning generations and families—to a pleasantly crisp breeze. As the digital countdown hit zero, the stadium erupted into cheers. A visually stunning CGI backdrop featuring soaring wildlife set the stage before vocalist/guitarist Motoki Ohmori, guitarist Hiloto Wakai, and keyboardist Ryoka Fujisawa emerged to a thunderous welcome, launching directly into their vibrant hit “Magic.” Fireworks and brilliant lighting illuminated the arena as Ohmori electrified the crowd, shouting, “ZENJIN! Are you ready to have fun?”

Following high-energy renditions of “I’m invincible” and “Stardom,” Ohmori addressed the roaring audience: “Welcome to ZENJIN MITO TO IM/MUTABLE! Today, the National Stadium belongs entirely to our fan club members.” The seamless chemistry between the artists and their audience fueled a career-spanning setlist. Fan-favorite throwbacks like their 2015 major-label debut single “StaRt” sparked mass sing-alongs and synchronized clapping, while intricate performances of “Avoid Note” and the dynamic “Apollodorus” showcased the band’s incredible musical range.

As Ohmori ventured down the runway encircling the arena for “familie,” the venue converged into a unified chorus resonating with the comforting lyric, “The place where your heart is always welcome.”

Midway through the evening, individual showcases highlighted each member’s virtuosic talents, from Wakai’s hard-rock guitar riffs to Fujisawa’s classical flute melodies. Ohmori then delivered an emotive acoustic rendition of “BFF” flowing into a poignant teaser of “Variety” from their 10th-anniversary celebrations.

As twilight settled over the stadium, atmospheric soundscapes introduced “ANTENNA,” followed by the glowing red sea of light sticks during “KUSUSHIKI” and the heartfelt dedication “Dear.” Delivering breathtaking vocal prowess on “Bokuno Koto,” Ohmori reminded the audience that every stumble on life’s path holds inherent beauty.

The momentum surged toward the grand finale with anthems like “Lilac,” “Ao To Natsu,” and “GOOD DAY,” before closing the main set with “Darling.” As the final notes rang out, a spectacular fireworks display encircled the National Stadium, leaving 70,000 JAMS profoundly moved by the closing spectacle.

Returning for an enthusiastic encore, the band treated fans to early classics “CONFLICT” and “Wind and Town.” Before delivering the final, euphoric sing-along of the night with “Que Sera Sera,” Ohmori looked out at the sea of fans: “We stepped into Phase 3 cherishing where we stand today, but we are eager to chase new horizons. Will you come along?”

As the final notes faded, a synchronized drone display illuminated the night sky, painting the “Ringo Jam 10th” logo and the band’s emblem above the stadium. Yet, beyond the dazzling technology, the true core of the evening remained timeless: universal lyrics, genre-defying pop arrangements, and the undeniable bond between the musicians and their fans.
