In July 2025, Mrs. GREEN APPLE became the first artist in J‑pop history to exceed 10 billion cumulative domestic streams across their catalog. Billboard Japan honored the milestone with a commemorative plaque, and the band shared heartfelt thanks to fans and listeners for helping them reach the landmark.

The group has amassed an impressive roster of high‑streaming tracks. Their catalog includes numerous songs that have each surpassed 100 million domestic streams — led by “Ao to Natsu,” which has amassed more than 900 million streams. Other major hits include “Tenbyo no Uta (feat. Sonoko Inoue),” “Dancehall,” “Que Sera Sera,” and “Lilac.” As of November 2025, Billboard Japan records show Mrs. GREEN APPLE has 31 songs that have crossed the 100‑million mark, the most of any artist on record. Recent 2025 releases such as “Darling,” “KUSUSHIKI,” “Heaven,” and “breakfast” have also joined that list.

2025 marks the band’s 10th anniversary under the banner “MGA MAGICAL 10 YEARS.” Celebratory activity included a best‑of release titled 10, six consecutive monthly releases, and an anniversary concert — MGA MAGICAL 10 YEARS ANNIVERSARY LIVE ~FJORD~ — which drew roughly 100,000 attendees over two days. Individual members have also branched into acting and hosting, expanding their presence beyond music into broader entertainment arenas.

Currently in the midst of their largest tour yet, the five‑dome DOME TOUR 2025 “BABEL no TOH,” the three core members — Motoki Omori (vocals, guitar), Hiloto Wakai (guitar), and Ryoka Fujisawa (keyboards) — took a moment between dates to speak with Billboard Japan about the milestone and their anniversary activities.

Interview highlights

On reaching 10 billion domestic streams

Motoki Omori: The figure is so vast it still feels surreal, but knowing so many people listen to our music energizes everything we do. We’re deeply grateful.

Ryoka Fujisawa: Ten billion is beyond anything we’d imagined. Hearing from listeners across generations who connect with our songs means everything to us. Thank you.

Hiloto Wakai: The number is overwhelming, but it’s incredibly rewarding to know our music is reaching individuals everywhere.

Messages from listeners during the 10th anniversary

Ryoka Fujisawa: We aimed to offer many ways for fans to celebrate the 10th anniversary, and the response has been diverse and touching — families, friends, and solo attendees all sent messages about how they enjoyed the events. Those notes warmed our hearts.

How the dome tour feels so far

Hiloto Wakai: The tour was a big challenge for us and we felt nerves before it began. Seeing audiences have a great time has been reassuring and makes this run feel truly rewarding.

On the films, IMAX® screenings and the anniversary exhibition

Motoki Omori: Many people have discovered us recently, so these projects — the concert film, the documentary, and the exhibition — are chances to share what Mrs. GREEN APPLE stands for. They’re entertainment, yes, but also authentic expressions of who we are. We hope as many people as possible experience them.

About Phase 2 concluding this year

Ryoka Fujisawa: Phase 2 has been about meeting listeners and bringing the band’s music to more people. Through the end of the year we want to keep offering the upbeat, energetic spirit that defines Mrs. GREEN APPLE.

Hiloto Wakai: With the rest of the tour ahead, I hope everyone continues to enjoy Phase 2 in all its forms.

Motoki Omori: When we move to Phase 3 in the new year, it won’t be a dramatic reset — it’s simply a milestone to guide our direction. We’ll continue making music people can enjoy and use the remaining anniversary time to thank as many people as we can.
