Following a schedule shift from March to mid-April, the developers at Fumi Games have officially confirmed that MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will be priced at $29.99.
The studio estimates that the campaign will offer a gameplay window of 12 to 20 hours, depending on individual playstyles and the thoroughness of exploration.
While it is currently unclear if this timeframe accounts for all narrative interactions, the duration is quite substantial for a genre-blending title of this nature. According to the game’s Steam listing, players will navigate through 20 handcrafted levels featuring “metroidvania” traversal mechanics, where unlocking fresh abilities grants access to previously unreachable routes.
Drawing heavy inspiration from the classic rubber-hose animation style of the 1930s, the narrative follows Jack Pepper, a hard-boiled private detective working the gritty streets of Mouseburg. What begins as a routine assignment quickly spirals into a dangerous trek through the city’s criminal underbelly, exposing a web of corruption that involves crooked law enforcement and high-ranking officials hidden behind a massive conspiracy.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch 2. The official release is currently slated for April 16, 2026.
