Mortal Kombat sequel released online

The action-packed sequel Mortal Kombat 2 has officially arrived on digital streaming platforms.

Following its theatrical debut this past May, the film grossed $128 million worldwide against an $80 million production budget. The story follows the champions of Earthrealm as they join forces with Johnny Cage, portrayed by Karl Urban, in a desperate bid to halt the tyrannical reign of Shao Kahn.

The ensemble cast features Jessica McNamee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, and others. Returning to the helm is director Simon McQuoid, who also directed the first installment. The film’s reception among critics has been polarized, currently holding a 64% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 46 on Metacritic.
