Miley Cyrus Says She’s Ready to ‘Savor Every Moment’ of Her Engagement to Maxx Morando

Fans around the globe rejoiced when news of Miley Cyrus’s engagement to Maxx Morando emerged this week. Cyrus says she’s ready to embrace every part of this new chapter with her fiancé.

Speaking with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly at a press junket for Avatar: Fire and Ash — to which she contributed the original song “Dream as One” — Cyrus described the timing as ideal. She noted that the film’s themes of love, resilience and rebuilding resonate with where she is in life right now.

“It feels completely aligned with my life at the moment,” she told the outlet, adding that the movie’s message mirrors her own experience of starting fresh and valuing love and perseverance.

When asked whether she plans to prolong the engagement or move quickly toward marriage, Cyrus said she hasn’t settled on a timeline amid promotional commitments. With the holidays approaching she expects to have more time to reflect. “My instinct is to savor every moment for as long as possible,” she explained.

She emphasized that she isn’t someone who constantly chases the next milestone. “I don’t feel compelled to rush into whatever comes next; I try to enjoy what’s happening now,” Cyrus added.

The couple met on a blind date in 2021 and have been together for four years. Cyrus confirmed the engagement after attending the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere with Liily guitarist Maxx Morando, showing off a new gold band on her left ring finger.

Last year, Cyrus told Harper’s Bazaar that Morando shares her outlook — they keep life light and collaborative. Morando has also contributed to songs on Cyrus’s Endless Summer Vacation and Something Beautiful projects.
