Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Democratic nominee Dr. Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race ahead of Election Day.

In an Instagram post on Monday (Nov. 2), Springsteen explained his support. “Dr. El-Sayed is a fighter for our American Constitution,” he wrote. “He’s a fighter for our American Democracy, and he’s a fighter against the corrupt, lawless, and anti-American leadership currently in the White House.”

He added, “I’m in his corner 100%.”

El-Sayed is in a close race with Republican Mike Rogers for Democrat Gary Peters’ Senate seat. A Democratic win in Michigan is crucial to the party’s effort to flip the Senate. Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens recently withdrew her support for El-Sayed and endorsed Rogers. Michigan Democratic Party chairman Curtis Hertel then announced on X that Stevens “is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.”

Springsteen has repeatedly criticized President Donald Trump, who has publicly taken aim at the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer several times. Springsteen has topped the Billboard 200 11 times.

Discussing his use of the recent Land of Hopes & Dreams tour as a political statement, Springsteen told Rolling Stone, “I do what I want to do. This was the show I wanted to make, the story I wanted to tell … I’m sure there were people, and I’ve read things where people were vehement about the content of the show. And that’s just the way the chips fall.”
