Justin Timberlake has a four-part “tell-all” docuseries in the works at Apple TV, with Janet Jackson appearing as a guest, Variety reported Monday (Nov. 2).
The series is reportedly expected to arrive in December. Few other details were available at press time, though it will almost certainly revisit Timberlake and Jackson’s 2004 Super Bowl controversy, when Timberlake exposed Jackson’s breast on live TV. The incident gave rise to the term “wardrobe malfunction.”
Billboard has reached out to Timberlake’s representatives for comment.
In 2021, the former *NSYNC member publicly apologized to Jackson and acknowledged the disparity in how they were treated after the Super Bowl controversy. “I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right,” Timberlake wrote. “I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.”
In the same apology, Timberlake expressed remorse for speaking disrespectfully about Britney Spears after their 2002 breakup.
In 2024, Timberlake was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons. He pleaded guilty to a lesser impaired-driving charge and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service.
“It’s been a tough week,” he told fans at a Forget Tomorrow World Tour concert shortly afterward. “I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me right back.”
After the tour ended in 2025, Timberlake revealed that he had been living with Lyme disease.
“Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,” he wrote in a statement at the time. “When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or, just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.”
Timberlake’s most recent album, Everything I Thought It Was, reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in 2024. He recently teamed up with Quavo on the song “House Music,” released in early October.
