Miley Cyrus has revealed that she and musician Maxx Morando are engaged. The couple’s engagement was confirmed on December 2, 2025, following their joint red-carpet appearance at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles.

Cyrus, who contributed the song “Dream as One” to the Avatar sequel, stepped out on December 1, 2025, wearing a new gold band on her left ring finger. News outlet People later verified that the ring signified a recent engagement.

The pair have been together since 2021. Cyrus recalled their first meeting in a 2023 interview with British Vogue, saying they were set up on a blind date — blind for her, she quipped — and that she simply told herself, “The worst that can happen is I leave.”

Professionally intertwined as well as romantically, Morando has contributed to songs on Cyrus’ recent albums Endless Summer Vacation and Something Beautiful. He also joined her on guitar during her Spotify Billions Club concert in Paris earlier this year while still a member of the band Liily.

Cyrus was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth; their relationship dated back to 2009, they married in 2017 and separated in 2018.

In a 2024 conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, Cyrus described what makes her partnership with Morando work despite their six-year age difference: “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”
