Photographer Sofia Chatskaya has once again prepared a treat for fans of the role-playing classic Final Fantasy VII, which received a remake in 2020. During the session, cosplayer Anna “Annet” Cheremisinova embodied the beloved—and tragic—Aerith Gainsborough.
Aerith is the last of the Cetra, an ancient people endowed with mystical gifts. She is portrayed as a young woman with fair skin, emerald-green eyes and light brown hair.
She is gentle and capable of forgiveness—an attribute she extends to Cloud after the events at the Temple of the Ancients. Aerith’s compassion often reaches even those who might not seem to deserve it.
Aerith is more than a mere character—she stands as a layered symbol that unites nature, spirituality, self-sacrifice and the quiet power of kindness. Her tale is a reminder that even small acts can reshape the world.
