Netflix has unveiled the first official still from its upcoming drama series, “Kennedy,” a production widely positioned as the American counterpart to the acclaimed historical saga “The Crown.”
The series features Michael Fassbender in the leading role of patriarch Joseph Kennedy Sr. The ensemble cast also includes Laura Donnelly as Rose Kennedy and Nick Robinson as Joseph Kennedy Jr., alongside Joshua Melnick, Saura Lightfoot Leon, Ben Miles, and Imogen Poots.
The show chronicles the ascent of America’s most legendary political dynasty, drawing inspiration from Fredrik Logevall’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, “JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917-1956.” Renowned Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (“The Hunt,” “Another Round”) is set to direct. An official release date for the streaming platform has yet to be confirmed.
