Meghan Trainor has officially called off her highly anticipated “Get In Girl” tour. The pop sensation shared the bittersweet news on Thursday, April 16, explaining that the demands of promoting her upcoming album, Toy With Me, alongside the responsibilities of being a new mother, made the extensive tour schedule unmanageable.
“After careful reflection and many difficult conversations, I have decided to cancel the Get In Girl Tour,” Trainor announced via Instagram. “Attempting to balance the rollout of a new record, the rigors of a national tour, and settling into life with our new baby girl has become overwhelming. At this moment, my priority is to be fully present for my growing family.”
The Live Nation-produced tour, which was set to feature Icona Pop, was slated to begin on June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan. The ambitious 26-city run included marquee stops at Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum, alongside dates in Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, and beyond.
Expressing her regret to her fanbase, she added, “I realize this is disappointing, and I am truly sorry to let you down. Please know this is the right choice for my family and me. I am incredibly proud of this new music and cannot wait for you to hear it. Your ongoing love and support mean the world to me.”
Trainor’s seventh studio album, Toy With Me, is still slated for an April 24 release via Epic Records. The project includes recent singles such as “Shimmer,” “Get In Girl,” and “Still Don’t Care.”
In January, Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, welcomed their third child, Mikey Moon. The couple also shares two sons, four-year-old Riley and two-year-old Barry. Sharing her joy at the time, the singer noted that her older boys were thrilled to welcome their new sister, even playing a role in choosing her middle name.
