Marvel Reveals Unusual Release Schedule for VisionQuest

Before Marvel returns to the big screen this December with Avengers: Doomsday, the company is coming back to the small screen this month. VisionQuest is the pseudo-sequel to 2021’s WandaVision and 2024’s Agatha All Along. The limited series premieres on Oct. 14 and runs for eight episodes. The full release schedule is now available.

As with previous Disney Plus shows, VisionQuest receives a two-episode premiere. After that, the release strategy changes. Episodes will roll out in two-episode batches weekly until the final two episodes, which will air one per week.

Here is the reported release schedule for VisionQuest:

• Oct. 14: Episodes 1 & 2
• Oct. 21: Episodes 3 & 4
• Oct. 28: Episodes 5 & 6
• Nov. 4: Episode 7
• Nov. 11: Episode 8

The show concludes before Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters. This timing gives audiences time to catch up in case any characters appear in the film.

What’s going on in Marvel’s VisionQuest?

VisionQuest follows Paul Bettany’s Vision after the events of WandaVision. He is processing his past and the death of his wife, Wanda Maximoff. Much of the story takes place in a digital space that may exist within Vision’s own mind. Viewers encounter several android and artificial intelligence characters from past Marvel projects appearing in human form. That lineup includes FRIDAY, EDITH, JARVIS, and Ultron. While robotic versions of Vision and Ultron appear briefly, human forms dominate the show, allowing James Spader to lean into his role as Ultron.

Marvel bills VisionQuest as the conclusion to a trilogy that started with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Vision goes on a quest to track down his family, specifically his son Tommy. Depending on how the series ends, audiences could see Vision and Tommy in Doomsday. Bettany has not been confirmed for the film, and the Russo brothers have noted that several appearances are being kept secret.
