GTA V and San Andreas Actors Give Advice to Lucia and Jason Voice Actors Ahead of GTA VI Release

New actors will not be revealed until the release of GTA VI, but they will become very popular after the game launches.

As the release of Grand Theft Auto VI approaches, the actors who voiced Franklin, Michael, and Trevor from GTA V, alongside the actor who voiced Carl “CJ” Johnson from GTA: San Andreas, were asked if they had any advice for the actors playing the new main characters, Lucia and Jason.

Young Maylay, who provided the voice for CJ, said “Have fun,” and Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) added:

Honestly, just listen to what Rockstar Games tells you. They will steer you in the right direction… Actors need to behave properly after the release. You get ready. That is all I can say—get ready. It is going to be a long journey for you.

Young Maylay (CJ) then addressed his colleagues:

When GTA VI comes out, you [the actors from GTA V] will be in my shoes. We will always be our characters […] Right now, I am mostly remembered by older folks. Everyone who comes up to me—well, there are young people too, you know—but guys with gray hair come up and say “Hey, you are CJ,” and they already have children of their own. You get older, just like your fanbase, but that does not mean people will forget about you. I was not forgotten after [the release of GTA V]. We will always be our characters—nobody can take that away from us.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The developers have not announced anything regarding a PC version.
