Cosplayer Recreates Cybella Battle from Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Cosplayer Ksenia “Neuromantica” Varankina has transformed into Kibellah, a Death Cult Assassin, to recreate events from the “Reunion” quest where the character must fight her own doppelgangers.

New photos by photographer Elena Vesania give fans of the role-playing game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader another brief glimpse into a beloved universe where, in the grim dark future, there is only war.

During this photo shoot, cosplayer Ksenia “Neuromantica” Varankina once again portrayed Kibellah, a Death Cult Assassin, a Rogue Trader companion, and a character who specializes in mobility, stealth, and melee weapon strikes.

This time, the team sought to recreate the events of the “Reunion” quest, which takes place in Chapter 3 in Commorragh, the terrifying lair of the dark Eldar (those who fear to say the name refer to such a sinister place as the Dark City).

It is in this mission that the player discovers Kibellah surrounded by her doppelgangers. In the Anatomical Opera, Archmachinator Tervantias subjects the young woman to a horrific and sadistic test where she is locked away with a dozen of her own perfect clones created by a haemonculus.

The clones try to convince her that they are the real ones and that she is merely a fake. A bloody and chaotic battle breaks out between them, forcing Kibellah to repeatedly kill enemies who share her exact face.

She destroys them one by one, gradually losing her mind in the process and struggling to understand who she truly is.
