Marvel Officially Announces Black Panther 3

Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Black Panther 3 is in development. The announcement was made during the studio’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where it was also revealed that Ryan Coogler will return to the director’s chair.

This upcoming installment will continue the saga of Wakanda following the events of the previous two films. While specific plot details remain under wraps, Coogler noted that the movie will serve as a pivotal chapter for the franchise, further enriching the lore of one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most vital realms.

Alongside the announcement, Marvel unveiled the film’s official logo. David Jonsson, known for his work in Rye Lane, has been cast to portray the son of the Black Panther.

The first two Black Panther entries collectively amassed over $2.2 billion at the global box office. The original 2018 film made history as the first superhero movie to earn a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Picture, while its sequel, Wakanda Forever, served as a poignant tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
