Marvel has begun extensive casting for the new X-Men
Marvel Studios is actively searching for the cast of its upcoming “X-Men” reboot, and as the studio’s D23 presentation approaches, rumors surrounding the project are intensifying.
For instance, Cooper Hoffman was reportedly a top contender for the role of Scott Summers. According to THR, Marvel showed significant interest in the actor; however, scheduling conflicts ultimately derailed those plans. It appears the studio has since pivoted toward Kit Connor for the part.
Uncertainty also looms over the casting of Professor X. While Bill Skarsgård was previously cited as a leading candidate, THR confirms that Marvel has conducted auditions with at least two other actors: Christopher Abbott and Tom Pelphrey. The latter is no longer in contention, though it remains unclear whether Abbott has secured the role.
Another point of speculation involves Adam Driver, whom insiders previously linked to the role of Magneto. The team at Heat Vision noted with a touch of irony that it is still unclear whether the actor is being considered for Erik Lehnsherr or potentially a different character, such as Sebastian Shaw.
