Main cast found for The Cable Guy remake
“The Cable Guy” is set for a revival as Sony Pictures Television has officially announced a series adaptation of the cult classic dark comedy. The lead roles will be portrayed by Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr.
The original 1996 feature, directed by Ben Stiller and starring Jim Carrey, followed the story of Chip, a lonely cable installer whose attempt to befriend a client spirals into a disturbing obsession. The film went on to gross $60 million at the box office.
The creative team behind the series includes Rob Rosell (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) alongside “Cobra Kai” writers Joe Piarulli and Luan Thomas. An official premiere date has not yet been announced.
