Madeon Returns with First Remix Since 2012, Delivering a Dazzling Spin on Ninajirachi’s ‘iPod Touch’

In an undeniably fitting creative alignment, Australian electronic trailblazer Ninajirachi has joined forces with French visionary Madeon for a vibrant reimagining of her breakthrough anthem, “iPod Touch.”
Released on Friday (August 28), Madeon’s rendition introduces a spacious, atmospheric foundation before ascending into pure electro-pop euphoria. Driven by sparkling synths and an exhilarating build-and-release dynamic reminiscent of the early 2010s, the track radiates his unmistakable sonic signature.
The collaboration carries significant historical weight, marking Madeon’s first official remix release in over a decade. Announcing the release across social platforms alongside nostalgic childhood photographs, the artists shared text exchanges outlining the creative process. Madeon revealed that he resurrected legacy samples from his earliest digital audio workstation archives to mirror the lyrical narrative of the track, which pays homage to discovering FL Studio during formative years. He also contributed an original verse reflecting on his personal musical beginnings.
The release extends an inventive hot streak for Ninajirachi, who recently teamed up with Madeon’s long-time compatriot Porter Robinson on the July single “WannaCry.” Meanwhile, Madeon continues to ride the momentum of Victory, his first full-length studio endeavor in seven years, which debuted in late June to critical acclaim.
“There was something inherently defiant about the record, and that was deeply thrilling,” Madeon reflected on his latest artistic chapter. “An artist’s greatest hazard is monotony—merely delivering what listeners anticipate. Over the course of my career, I’ve earned the freedom to take genuine creative risks, embracing the boldness to evolve rather than fade into complacency.”
