Lil Nas X is embracing life after rehabilitation with his signature blend of wit, resilience, and optimism.

In a candid video shared to his Instagram Reel, the chart-topping artist playfully commented on the overwhelmingly delicate treatment he has received from fans and peers since completing his stay at a wellness facility. With his characteristic tongue-in-cheek delivery, the musician noted how drastically public interactions have shifted toward cautious encouragement.

“Ever since I got out of rehab, everybody’s just overwhelmingly gentle with me,” he joked. “I could just say ‘hello,’ and people will respond like, ‘You’re so brave.’ I can upload a standard selfie on my Story, and someone in the comments is bound to say, ‘Keep fighting, King.’”

Maintaining that lighthearted perspective, the artist also commemorated a rare personal milestone on social media: marking his 10,000th day of life. Holding a celebratory cake in an Instagram Story clip, he teased followers with deadpan humor, declaring that he was proud to have made it to the milestone while playfully acknowledging that not everyone reaches it.

This latest update follows a more vulnerable message he posted earlier in the summer, where he detailed his extended hiatus and ongoing recovery journey. At the time, the performer revealed he had spent several consecutive months in residential treatment before returning home to spend grounding time with family in Atlanta and friends in Los Angeles.

He explained that establishing a consistent support system—including working closely with both a licensed therapist and a psychiatrist—has been instrumental in helping him quiet internal noise and stay rooted in reality.

Reflecting on his personal growth, Lil Nas X also opened up about coming to terms with his bipolar disorder diagnosis, admitting that denial initially kept him from seeking proper care due to the stigma surrounding psychiatric treatment and prescription medication.

“Deep down, I think I knew for years, but I resisted accepting it because I didn’t want to rely on medication or have people look at me differently,” he previously confessed. “I thought, I’m already Black and queer—navigating life with all of that plus bipolar disorder feels like playing on maximum difficulty.”

The rapper’s focus on structured mental health rehabilitation comes in the wake of a legal incident in Los Angeles, where he initially faced multiple felony counts following an encounter with law enforcement. According to reporting from Variety, prosecutors have agreed to dismiss all pending charges upon the verified completion of his comprehensive mental health diversion program.
