Don't Nod and Netflix partnership announcement

Don’t Nod — the studio known for narrative-driven titles like Life Is Strange, Jusant, and this year’s Lost Records: Bloom & Rage — has entered into an agreement with Netflix to develop a new story-led video game built on a “major IP.” The announcement appears in Don’t Nod’s 2025 mid-year financial report.

The deal does not disclose which property will be adapted, only describing the project as “a new narrative experience that builds on the studio’s recognized expertise in the genre.” Development is being handled by Don’t Nod’s Montreal team — a relatively new group that includes designers who worked on the original Life Is Strange — and the finished title will be published by Netflix.

Historically, Don’t Nod has specialized in original, choice-driven narratives, so this marks the studio’s first known collaboration to adapt an existing franchise. It’s reasonable to assume the game will draw from Netflix’s in-house IP catalogue — whether that means Stranger Things, Wednesday, Beef, or another series remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Don’t Nod is also pursuing other projects: the studio revealed a sci-fi title called Aphelion during the Xbox Showcase this summer. For more details about that game, see the coverage here.
