HBO Casts New Moaning Myrtle for Second Season of Harry Potter Series
Preparation for production on the second season is in full swing.
Filming for the second season of the Harry Potter series is scheduled to start very soon, so HBO is gradually introducing audiences to new cast members. This time, the company revealed the actress playing Moaning Myrtle, the ghost of a former Hogwarts student who haunts one of the school bathrooms. She will be played by Molly Hewitt-Richards, known for the crime drama Code of Silence.

Alongside Hewitt-Richards, Rafe Spall has joined the continuation as Arthur Weasley, and Jasper Ambrose will play Colin Creevey. Other newcomers were announced previously: Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart, Lenny Rush will play Dobby, and Billy Barratt will appear as Tom Riddle.
The first season of the series will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on December 25, 2026. A release date for the second season, which is based on Chamber of Secrets, has not yet been announced.
