American actor Danny Glover has publicly addressed his Alzheimer’s diagnosis for the first time.
The Lethal Weapon icon shared that he initially received the news in 2023 but had chosen to keep his health struggle private until now.
It’s something I’m still trying to process. There are fragments you keep holding onto—proof that your memory is still there—and then there are moments that remain etched in my mind forever,
Glover revealed in an exclusive interview with People. Alzheimer’s is widely recognized as the most prevalent and progressive form of dementia. Beyond his legendary role in the Lethal Weapon series, Glover is celebrated for his performances in Predator 2, the horror hit Saw, The Royal Tenenbaums, and the disaster epic 2012, among many others.
Throughout the 2010s, speculation swirled regarding the development of Lethal Weapon 5, with Mel Gibson slated to both direct and star. While Glover had previously confirmed his intention to reprise his role as Detective Roger Murtaugh, the status of the project remains uncertain.
