Lenovo: PC component prices to skyrocket further in March

“We have been forced to adapt and must continue to do so. There is simply no other alternative.”

Lenovo, one of the world’s preeminent PC manufacturers, has alerted its partners to an impending price surge, advising them to finalize orders immediately to avoid the updated pricing tiers scheduled for March.

Ryan McCurdy, President of Lenovo North America, confirmed that these market adjustments are now inevitable.

As reported by CRN, the leadership of Lenovo’s North American division has defined rigorous deadlines for procurement. Wade McFarland, the region’s Channel Chief, recommended that partners secure their orders by February 25 to ensure distributors can process them before the February 28, 2026, cutoff—the final date before the new pricing policy takes effect.

The increases will target specific commercial hardware within the Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) portfolio, which includes PCs, tablets, and mobile devices. These shifts are largely driven by the rising cost of DRAM, which the company notes is placing significant financial pressure on both the IDG and the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG).

Lenovo further clarified that the physical shipment date is as critical as the order date. Any orders placed before the February 28, 2026, deadline that have not been shipped by March 31, 2026, will be subject to the revised, higher pricing.
