CD Projekt RED Announces Release Window for The Witcher 4
CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 4 will skip gamescom and will not launch before 2028.
In a pre-gamescom video release, CD Projekt RED joint CEO Michał Nowakowski stated that the next mainline entry in the franchise will not appear at the upcoming event. Nowakowski added that the game will arrive in 2028 at the earliest, noting that the studio cannot provide a more specific release date at this time.
CD Projekt RED will still attend gamescom to showcase Songs of the Past, a new expansion for The Witcher 3 planned for release in 2027.
Songs of the Past will serve as the third full-fledged expansion for The Witcher 3, putting players back in control of Geralt of Rivia. The project is being developed in collaboration with Fool’s Theory, a studio employing veterans who previously worked on The Witcher 3.
