Lenny Kravitz Says Fan Pulled Out His Dreadlocks During Brisbane Concert

Lenny Kravitz revealed that a highly enthusiastic fan accidentally pulled four of his dreadlocks from the back of his head during his concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Nov. 21. In a clip he shared to his Instagram Stories shortly after the show, Kravitz explained the incident occurred while he moved through the crowd during the song “Let Love Rule.”

Speaking directly to fans in the video, he described the moment with a mix of disbelief and humor: “A very excited young lady pulled four dreadlocks out of the back of my head. Despite the unexpected tug, Kravitz said the episode won’t alter his longtime practice of coming offstage to engage the audience during “Let Love Rule.” “I’m not going to stop coming out there for ‘Let Love Rule’ because that’s our moment together,” he told fans, adding, “Brisbane, you’re wild. I love you.”

The occurrence comes as Kravitz continues his Australian tour in support of his 2024 album Blue Electric Light. His remaining Australian dates include Nov. 25 at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, Nov. 28 in Mildura, and Nov. 29 in Adelaide.

These concerts mark Kravitz’s first Australian performances since 2012; his previous visits to the region were in 1993 and 1994. Since his 2012 visit, Kravitz has released three studio albums — Strut (2014), Raise Vibration (2018), and Blue Electric Light (2024) — and in 2024 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as his first Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination (he was not inducted that year).
