Lead actor of the new ‘Paranormal Activity’ revealed
Chase Yi, known for his roles in “Mythic Quest” and “Hacks,” has been tapped to lead the upcoming installment of the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, according to a report from Deadline.
This eighth entry in the long-running series is slated for an international theatrical release on May 21, 2027. The project will be helmed by director and screenwriter Ian Tuason, the visionary behind the critically acclaimed horror film “Half-Tone.” Production is currently underway via a collaboration between Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic.
Plot details remain tightly under wraps. Since its inception in 2009, the “Paranormal Activity” franchise has become a cinematic juggernaut, amassing a staggering $890 million at the global box office. The previous entry, “Next of Kin,” premiered exclusively on streaming platforms in 2021.
Beyond his recent work, Chase Yi’s filmography includes appearances in various series such as “High Potential,” “The Rehearsal,” and “Dave.”
