Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier (known for Melancholia) is still developing his concluding project, After, producer Louise Vest has revealed.
“As you know, Lars von Trier has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. I met with him last week and, despite the circumstances, he was in very good spirits. He no longer works full days as he once did, but I can say with confidence that this project is continually progressing,” Vest clarified.
Simultaneously, Trier is working on a 100-episode series that will alternate archival material with reflections and explorations of the director’s cinematic language.
Trier’s most recent feature film, the thriller The House That Jack Built, was released in 2018. In 2022 he issued the third and final season of the series The Kingdom.
